The Waiting Game...

Cameron made it through yesterday, the first test a muscle test was easy for him. According to the scoring he did pretty well, a few weak muscles were noted as we expected and high tone, also expected.
We then moved up to the 9th floor for the CMG Test, not so fun. Cameron had a catheter placed and they filled up his bladder with a blue solution three times in a row - he screamed for the first 15 minutes, Dad cringed for about an hour!
The nurse put an Elmo tape in and that seemed to help, and we read him his favorite book. Finally he feel asleep laying on me and didn't even realize what was going on by the third time.

We are going to meet with a different nuerosurgeon next Tuesday (Cameron's birthday) to discuss the results of both tests and review the MRI findings to determine if we should indeed proceed with the surgery. This will be our third opinion on Cameron's case, the Dr. we are seeing Tuesday is known to be the best at Tethered Cord release, so if he needs it she'll do it.

It's been a very long two weeks, a multitude of Dr. visits and conversations about what to do with Cameron's case. It's very hard and exhausting I find myself not sleeping much and when I do sleep it's about the Dr's!

I am very anxious to get to our appointment on Tuesday, it will give us some resolution finally and a game plan.

As I always say Cameron is a happy little guy, it's the small things sometimes that get us through the days. His smile is contagious.
